about

This was our second compilation of demo tracks entitled "demos II" and given away as self-made CD-Rs for free or already back then at name-your-price. It's a rather lose compilation featuring classic sfx songs, but also some sort of experimentation, e.g. please do not ask us what "Expertations" means, lol, or why we needed to try to do some gay Swedish synth pop track ("The Lonely Singer") or why there is two versions of some tracks, or no original version, so that we 'had' to include a terrible live version ("Romeo & Juliet Pt. 1"). It was rather chaotic as always, but also we created maybe our 'Greatest Hits' in that phase, e.g. "Kleines Astronautenmädchen" and "Fern der Nacht". Some of the German sung tracks made it onto a beautiful 10" vinyl on the Dutch label Enfant Terrible in 2007 (thanks again Martijn) under the moniker Solitairen Effekten. The name by the way came up when Martijn said he thought that might be the translation of solitude fx into German. We loved that and kept it for our contributions to the Enfant Terrible label. "Return to Utopia" made it onto a 7" vinyl in the early days of the Kernkrach label from Germany. It was our first vinyl appearance (thank you Jörg and Heinz). It also features two tracks with guests: "Robbie Robot" features Orpheo's son Leander on vocals, and "Muligheter" is a co-composition and recording by Norwegian friend NIls-Inge Graven and Marc under the moniker of HERR SOLSKINN. "demos II" was the last thing that was like finalized or regarded as something we could give away as a whole.
